An End-of-Life Doula provides non-medical, holistic support to individuals and their families during the end-of-life journey. This includes emotional, spiritual, and practical assistance, helping to navigate the complexities of this time.

Consider an End-of-Life Doula in several scenarios: when facing a terminal diagnosis, during the advanced stages of a chronic illness, or when elderly care becomes particularly challenging. An End  of Life Doula can make suggestions to the loved ones about when to contact healthcare professionals after discussing what questions or concerns they may have, directly with their provider, ensuring our clients' emotional and spiritual needs are met alongside their medical care. We act as advocates, helping to communicate wishes and ensuring holistic care.

No, our role is non-medical. We don't provide medical or legal advice but can offer guidance on where to find such resources and support in understanding your options.

Legacy projects can include creating memory books, audio or video recordings, writing letters to loved ones, or any other meaningful way to leave a lasting memory.

We provide bereavement support, help in planning memorial services, and offer guidance on navigating the grief process. We're also here for continued emotional support and check-ins.

Currently End of Life Doulas are not federally  regulated or covered by insurance. Their services are covered by private pay. However, we can discuss various options for service packages based on your needs and budget.

An End of Life Doula can support the needs of the dying person/family by:

  • Talking about dying and helping them identify their wishes.
  • Helping them plan for what they want after death, such as what to do with their remains or what type of services they want
  • Planning what they want the physical space to be like around them, pictures, smells, sounds

End-of-Life Doulas are trained in various aspects of death and dying, including understanding the physical and emotional processes, communication skills, grief support, and ethical considerations.

Yes, we can provide information and support in planning home funerals or natural burials, aligning with the wishes and values of the individual and their family.
